Welcome to the website of the Chair of Environmental Ethics - University of Alcalá. We intend to promote research and education on the ethical and moral roots of the environmental conservation, as well as interdisciplinary reflection on the implications of these ethical postulates. We are particularly interested in studying the relationships between the Major Religions and environmental conservation, as well as the ethical values in environmental education and fostering the environmental commitment of citizens, mainly university students. We prepare reflection and debate documents on these lines of work.
Throughout the years of activity of the chair, we have organised undergraduate and postgraduate courses on these topics, seminars and meetings of experts, congresses and lectures. We have developed an editorial line called "Environmental Ethics Notebooks", which provides information on the projects developed so far. We have also collaborated with secondary schools and other foundations that promote education in environmental sustainability.
