Resumen: This paper highlights that the ultimate causes of the environmental crisis and as well as the search for solutions require a deep reflection beyond scientific, technical or economic criteria, in which, Environmental Ethics can be very useful, since environmental planning and management depend largely on our vision of nature and how we propose our relationship with the environment. It also highlights the importance of protected areas and river areas, both for nature conservation itself and for the human being in multiple aspects. Finally, the desirability of a greater inclusion of ethical considerations in environmental policies and in the different levels of environmental planning and management is presented, paying special attention to the territorial dimension.
